This is a  dry point etching. The image has been inscribed into an aluminium plate, inked and then printed. Each time this palate is inked I approach it as a monotype in that each time I ink up differently and in different colours. Ink is rolled onto the etched plate and then worked on by removing areas, partially or completely until the desired image emerges in a range of tones. The image is then transferred from the plate onto heavy quality printing paper. This process is often repeated more than once to build up colour and texture. This painterly form of printmaking means that each print is unique - no editions, OOAK
